See What Internist Do!
Internists are personal physicians that are specially trained to provide their patients with long-term and comprehensive, primary healthcare. They perform routine physicals, checkups and most lab testing right on site. Internists are known as the “gate keepers” or primary care physicians. They diagnose, treat and manage all adult healthcare needs, starting with very common conditions of the ears, eyes, skin and thyroid, as well as very complicated conditions like cancer and diseases of the heart, lungs and nervous system.
Internists are just like a family physician, except they specialize in treating adults over the age of 18. They also have a strong focus that incorporates education, wellness, disease prevention and screenings into your treatment plan for optimal health.
